Browse lets you search and filter the full name database. Use filters for gender, origin, length, popularity, and more. Each name card shows key details at a glance.
Swipe is a quick way to sort through names. Swipe right (or press the right arrow) to save a name to your shortlist, left to skip, or down to exclude it. You can undo your last action if you change your mind.
Shortlist is where your saved names live. You can reorder them by dragging, add notes, and export the list as CSV. If you're connected with a partner, you'll each have your own list.
Matches appears when you're connected with a partner. It shows names that both of you have saved — your shared favorites.
Every name is classified into one of three tiers based on historical ranking data across countries:
Common — widely used and immediately recognizable.
Uncommon — familiar enough to pronounce, rare enough to feel chosen.
Rare — rarely given, quietly distinctive.
Each name has five scores on a 0 to 1 scale, where higher is better:
Cross-language — how well the name works across English, German, and Spanish.
Spelling simplicity — how likely people are to spell the name correctly on first hearing.
Pronunciation stability — how consistently the name is pronounced across different languages and regions.
Accent neutrality — how naturally the name sounds regardless of the speaker's accent.
Popularity balance — a measure of how evenly popular the name is across countries, rather than being concentrated in one.
Your shortlist stores names you've saved while browsing or swiping. You can drag names to reorder, add personal notes, and export the list as a CSV file.
To collaborate with a partner, one person creates a project and shares the invite code. Once both partners join, each maintains their own shortlist. Names saved by both partners appear in Matches.
Gender — filter by feminine, masculine, or unisex names.
Length — filter by the number of letters in the name.
Origin — filter by the cultural or linguistic origin of names.
Starts with — filter names by their first letter or letters.
Popularity — filter by Common, Uncommon, or Rare tiers.
Your shortlist, preferences, and browsing state are stored locally in your browser. If you connect with a partner, shortlist data syncs through a minimal server — but your browsing activity and filter choices stay private on your device.
